Booking Through Thursday and Albacon

This week's BTT question is...

"Who is your favorite male lead character?"

Hmm. My favorite male lead... that's a tough one. I don't read many books with male lead characters.

My three favorites are Robinton from The MasterHarper of Pern, Artemis Fowl from, well, Artemis Fowl, and Merlin from The Lost Years of Merlin. Robinton is the charming and witty one that you fall in love with, Artemis is the determined, clever one that you can't help but admire, and Merlin is the angsty, teenager you can't help but relate too. ^^

Albacon

I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED. My mom has put our tickets on reservation and I GET TO GO MEET ANNE MCCAFFREY. I'm soooo stoked, it's ridiculous.

Anne isn't the only one who will be there. (She's just the only one that matters... just kidding. :]) Her son Todd, who's written other Pern books, will be there as well. Then there is all de littler people who I had never heard of (no offense) until now, like...
  • Susan Hanniford Crowley - she wrote Ladyknight.
  • Debra Doyle - She wrote the Circle of Magic series, the Bad Blood series, and other series.
  • Eric Flint - Why does his name sound so familiar? He wrote the Belisarius series with David Drake, and other series, but that's not where I've heard it... oh well. I'll figure it out.
  • Sharron Lee - she wrote The Great Migration Duology, which has a book in it called The Crystal Dragon - and I love dragons.
  • Virginia McMorrow - She's the author of novels such as Mage Confusion and Mage Evolution.
And more, of course, but those are the ones that stuck out. I'm trying to read one book by every author before Albacon comes. (Besides Anne, because I have half of her books memorized. I'm really not obsessed, I swear!)

Until then, happy reading!

~Nicole

I remember last year clearly, when Mr. Casey had us do a research project on a 'life worth knowing.' I researched John Lennon, and you researched Anne McCaffery. And if you picked her out of ALL the authors you've read, I can only imagine what a huge deal meeting her must be for you. XD

Hooray for Merlin!!! I read the whole Lost Years of Merlin series a year or two ago and became completely obsessed. Those are some seriously good books.

Victoria: Out of all the people I knew, out of all the authors I read... yeah. -sheepish grin- I was going through my DragonRiders of Pern phase. Now I'm in a Petaybee and Freedom phase. =]

Liv: I love them. I'd much rather be Rhia than Merlin... yay for magic!

Keri: xD I had a hard time narrowing it down to three. ^^

Deslily: I'm debating which book I want her to sign. So... many... good ones... xD I'll be sure to take lots and lots of pictures!
